The original Kids Town Playmat is a 58" x 36" 100% cotton canvas panel that includes all of a children's favorite places. They include:

The fabric panel can be attached to a heavy cotton backing (denim, heavy cotton, canvas, etc.) very simply. To attach the backing, simply put right sides together and trim to the size of the mat panel. Stitch all the way around the edges 1/4" leaving a 6-8" hole in one end so the fabric can be turned right side out. Press around the edges so it lays flat and smooth. Top stitch 1/8" - 1/4" from the edge to close the open end and stitch the top and bottom together. Simple as that, the mat is ready for playtime!
Kids Town Play Mats are designed to be enjoyed by children from birth until they no longer play on the floor. The prime ages would be two and up, however since there are no small parts, any age can be appropriate.
These play mats are soft and brightly colored. They are machine washable separately on a delicate cycle and hang to dry. They are intended to allow children to develop their imagination. (We have had a variety of projects with our grandson including repaving the parking lot, making blue jelly beans for the candy store, putting out fires everywhere and traveling to see "Gigi and Aboo" - my favorite part of course!) The mats are scaled so the Thomas and Chuggington trains fit the track perfectly and all roads and parking will accommodate the Matchbox sized cars, trucks, motorcycles, and construction equipment.
